We have a significant impact on the development of the Polish economy through investments, innovations, export activities, and the creation of attractive jobs. We manufacture our medicinal products at 4 production plants in Poland. Since 2000, we have invested over PLN 2.5 billion in state-of-the art infrastructure. We employ more than 4,000 people across the country. More than 300 of our employees work in R&D. We export our medicinal products to 35 markets, and our active pharmaceutical ingredients to more than 60 countries. We develop innovative solutions for patients at 3 Polish R&D centres. We are one of the top R&D investors in Poland. Since 2000, we have invested over PLN 2.3 billion in new product development. The results of our efforts in the field of innovation in 2016-2019 include: 28 inventions, 64 patent applications and 18 patents.
Every day, we do everything to provide patients with affordable, high-quality drugs from all important therapeutic groups. 1 in 8 medicine packages sold in Polish pharmacies and 1 in 3 medicine packages used in hospitals come from Polpharma. We ensure drug safety for patients and uninterrupted access to products of social importance. We are the only manufacturer of 42 medicinal products, including life-saving medicines with no counterparts available in Poland. We are Poland’s only large-scale manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients used as raw materials in the production of finished dosage forms. We conduct long-term nationwide educational programmes for patients in the fields of cardiology, ophthalmology, pulmonology and gynaecology. We partner with Polish physicians and pharmacists, supporting them in expanding knowledge.
We develop cooperation with Polish scientists, contributing to the commercialization of scientific achievements and the development of the knowledge-based economy. We support Polish scientists through the Polpharma Scientific Foundation. We have already donated around PLN 23 million in support of research projects in the fields of pharmacy and medicine. We have provided 57 scholarships for Ph.D. students. We carry out projects in collaboration with universities and scientific institutions. We cooperate with local schools, educating future employees in the dual system. We have won Poland’s Most Attractive Employer Award in the Life Sciences category in a student survey.
