Implementation doctorates in Polpharma

Since October 2018, PhD students employed at Polpharma have been working on research challenges in the field of chemistry, pharmacy and biotechnology. The program of implementation doctorates initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education is implemented in cooperation with the Medical University of Gdansk, the University of Warsaw and other institutions.

NUMBER OF IMPLEMENTATION DOCUMENTS CONDUCTED – 9.

Polpharma’s active cooperation with Polish universities, aimed at educating highly specialised experts in the field of chemistry and pharmacy, perfectly fits into the program of implementation doctorates and the strategy of building a bridge between science and business.

– Magdalena Rzeszotalska, Director of Corporate Communication and CSR at Polpharma.

The issues examined under doctoral dissertations reflect both the needs of an industrial partner, and also allow the involvement of the unique competences of the scientific staff, also at GUMed and UW in the field of pharmacy and organic and analytical chemistry.

Research issues faced by doctoral students as part of planned studies in the field of chemistry and pharmacy include optimisation of preparation processes for the formulation of selected products and analyses of active substances.

A bridge between science and business

“Implementation doctorates” is one of the flagship programs of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Jaroslaw Gowin. Its purpose is to provide PhD students with opportunity for education in close cooperation with the entrepreneur or business entity employing them, e.g. by using the company’s equipment and resources. This allows doctoral students to develop and improve their qualifications, and also helps to solve a research problem relevant to the company. The program has a real impact on building cooperation between the scientific and socio-economic environments.
