StartSmart CEE is one of the largest initiatives of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe with over 3,000 emerging tech companies from various countries having participated so far, and more than 300 of which have received real support. The partners for the Spring 2024 edition are: Warner Bros, Discovery Polska, PZU, Polpharma, MASPEX, Rossmann, CVC Capital Partners, Smart Soft Solutions, and EFL (Credit Agricole Group).
Start-ups from the sectors of Food & Agritech, Health Tech & Insurtech, Retail Tech, Big Data & Artificial Intelligence, Media & Content Transformation, Energy Efficiency & Environmental Sustainability, Customer Engagement, and Social Impact have a unique opportunity to access mentoring, workshop, and a global network centered around one of the best technical universities in the world – the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Program participants will not only gain access to mentoring and support in building their business, but they also have the chance to secure grants for commercial implementations up to PLN 400,000. Additionally, the CVC Young Innovator Award will be given to the start-up with the highest social impact, where a key team member is under 30 years old, with an award amounting to PLN 120,000.
Online registration is open until July 25 through the application form available on the website: www.startsmartcee.org. Up to 25 start-ups will be selected from the submissions to proceed to the final stage. The program is conducted in two independent tracks: #ReThink and #PilotReady, which are tailored to the development stage of the start-ups. The first track provides appropriate business education and comprehensive mentoring for start-ups in the earlier development phase (MVP) to prepare the product for quicker market entry, fill in business skill gaps, and prepare the start-up for working with customers (corporations). The #PilotReady track is designed for start-ups in the growth stage, looking for clients and wanting to scale into new markets. Within this track, young entrepreneurs receive appropriate mentoring, participation in selected workshops, and the opportunity to collaborate directly with the program’s corporate partners on Proof of Concept, which ultimately aims to lead to permanent commercial cooperation.
The substantive partners of this edition are: EUPatent Law Firm, Hasik Rheims & Partners, HR Hints, Kingmakers, and TaxLab. The program is co-funded by the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG) under the Startup Booster Poland – Smart UP initiative implemented by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) from December 2023 to October 2024. The total project value exceeds PLN 10 million.
