Poland is known for its well preserved natural environment. We are the fourth most forested country in Europe, with many national parks. Poland has access to the Baltic Sea in the north and is surrounded by mountains (Tatra, Bieszczady, Carpathian) in the south, with many lakes and rivers throughout the whole country.
Poland is one of the few countries in the European Union that avoided a recession during the global economic downturn, actually managing to increase its gross domestic product (GDP).
Thanks to its well-preserved environment, Poland is well-known for the excellent quality of its food, with no genetically modified organisms permitted. Polish bread, vegetables and fruit taste like those from nowhere else.
The climate is mostly temperate. Summers are generally warm, with average temperatures between 18 °C and 30 °C. Winters are rather cold, with average temperatures between -6 °C and 3 °C. Seasons are clearly differentiated with the famous Polish golden autumn.
Polpharma has given me the opportunity to test myself in new roles. I was able to gain experience in many Trade Office departments, which has allowed me to get to know the company from a broader perspective. For me, working in a company ‘with a human face’ is of great value. I am pleased that I can work with ambitious colleagues who develop their passions both at work and in private life. Polpharma offers great opportunities for development, which allows employees to broaden their own horizons.
Magdalena Górzyńska Quality Control
My adventure with Polpharmа started with a graduate scheme, after which I started working at the Quality Control Department. The work here provides great opportunities to develop, learn, and acquire valuable skills. As part of our work, we are responsible for human life and health. It is a great responsibility but it also gives us satisfaction and awareness that we are doing something important.
Tomasz Slisewski R&D
Working for Polpharmа is a driving force for me to develop continuously and to improve my skills. This is also due to the fact that I work for R&D at the API Plant and my daily work involves contact with a number of people and we work together to develop many new active substances. I share my passion for sports with many of my workmates; we inspire and motivate one another to accomplish increasingly better results. Polpharma made me come back to sports after a long break, initially to jogging and later on, my adventure with triathlon and MTB started.
Weronika Wójcik-Wicka Quality Control, API
I work with a super team of wise and friendly people. My working time is flexible, so I can start my working day relaxed. I like sports. So, I particularly appreciate the fact that Polpharma promotes physical activity; we get credits for cycling, a multisport pass and Inpulse challenges. We go to sports competitions and other sporting events together.
Sylwia Wójcik Quality Control
My daily activities can be used in work for the Quality Control chemical laboratory. The wide range of products and multiple tests which need to be done for each of them mean that there is no time for boredom at work. It gives me great satisfaction that we safeguard the quality and safety of medicinal products.
